Το πρόγραμμα αποτελείται από έξι ερευνητικές ομάδες που προέρχονται από έξι ελληνικά πανεπιστήμια και ερευνητικά κέντρα: το Ιόνιο Πανεπιστήμιο στην Κέρκυρα, το Ινστιτούτο Μεσογειακών Σπουδών στην Κρήτη, το Εθνικό Ίδρυμα Ερευνών στην Αθήνα, Το Πανεπιστήμιο Κρήτης στο Ρέθυμνο, το Πανεπιστήμιο Θεσσαλίας στον Βόλο, και το Πανεπιστήμιο Αιγαίου στη Χίο. Ο πυρήνας του προγράμματος αποτελείται από 20 μέλη (Κύρια Ερευνητική Ομάδα) και 71 εξωτερικούς συνεργάτες (Ερευνητική ομάδα εξωτερικών συνεργατών). Η ομάδα συνολικά αποτελείται από 91 επιστήμονες (καθηγητές, κύριους ερευνητές, νέους ερευνητές: διδάκτορες, υποψήφιους διδάκτορες και μεταπτυχιακούς φοιτητές) από έντεκα ελληνικά πανεπιστήμια και ερευνητικά κέντρα και 20 πανεπιστήμια και ερευνητικά κέντρα από την Τουρκία, τη Βουλγαρία, τη Ρουμανία, την Ουκρανία, τη Ρωσία, τη Γεωργία και τις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες.
